Job Description

Summary

The Women's Place is an outpatient Reproductive Psychiatry clinic that provides mental health consultation and treatment during reproductive life events including the perinatal period and the menopause transition.

Responsibilities will be assigned by the Division Director of Reproductive Psychiatry, in the Department of OB/GYN and the Medical Director of The Women's Place.

The candidate is responsible for applying the knowledge, skills, and perspective of clinical psychiatry to the services provided at The Women's Place, including, but not limited to, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, consultation, education, training, supervision, research, and administration. The candidate will be responsible for the evaluation and treatment of assigned patients. This includes psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy, and treatment planning. The candidate will work closely in consultative and liaison roles with other clinical specialties including general OB/GYN, Gynecologists specializing in the treatment of Menopause, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Fetal Surgery, Reproductive-Endocrinology and Infertility, Urogynecology, and Minimally-Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

There will also be an expectation to participate in research projects as needed. Faculty is expected to participate in the educational mission of the College. Candidates must agree to discharge their duties and responsibilities faithfully, to abide by all rules, regulations, and policies, and to devote to the performance of their duties and responsibilities the amount of time and effort for which they are employed by the College.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have an M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of an approved residency in general psychiatry, board-certified or board-eligible for certification by ABPN, and a minimum of two (2) years of post-residency work experience in women's mental health or a fellowship in either Reproductive Psychiatry or Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.

Preferred: Licensed in the State of Texas.

Experience in the education of medical trainees.
