Your role
The APSIA Group (Applied Security and Information Assurance), led by Prof. Peter Y A Ryan, has recently been granted the project "Quantum LDPC codes with efficient decoding algorithms" supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). The APSIA Group is seeking a highly qualified post-doctoral researcher for this project. For further information, you may refer to https://www.uni.lu/snt-en/research-groups/apsia
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be fully funded by the project "Quantum LDPC codes with efficient decoding algorithms" supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR).

Your main responsibilities will be to:
• Conduct research on quantum LDPC codes and decoding algorithms
• Disseminate the results via suitable conferences or journals
• Perform administrative tasks for the project

Additionally, there may arise the opportunity or need to perform tasks in the following areas:
• Teaching
• Intellectual property and knowledge transfer
• Outreach to the general public
• Research proposal writing, funding acquisition
• Other administrative duties, for example related to the organization of a workshop, etc.

Your profile
• PhD in Mathematics, Theoretical Computer Science, Information Theory, Physics or related fields
• High level of mathematical maturity
• Experience with topics related to quantum LDPC codes and decoding algorithms, or demonstrated ability and willingness to learn quickly
• Fluent English
• Ability to work both independently and in collaboration
