Job Description
Summary
The mission of the Biostatistics and Data Research Unit at the Children's Nutrition Research Center in Baylor College of Medicine is to provide outstanding support in the design and analysis of research studies and to strengthen the training and educational activities for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, faculty and staff. The primary purpose of the Research Assistant position is to demonstrate technical skills in implementing research studies and training activities.
Work Schedule: Tuesday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Job Duties
- Assists with conducting studies and grant submissions, including designing data collection tools and conducting literature reviews often in the areas of nutrition, obesity, metabolic disease and health disparities.
- Assists with curriculum development and verifying information.
- Assists with developing and organizing training materials and educational sessions.
- Assists with developing basic components of learning modules based on guidance from PI.
- Organizes meeting materials and applies good record keeping.
- Assists with creating documentation for maintaining daily activities, including inventory of team projects, team software licenses, and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
- Background in nutrition preferred.
- Some experience in the scientific process, maintaining accuracy of multiple documents, providing detailed reports, and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
