Job Description
Summary
The Behavioral Health Associate will play a pivotal role in providing advanced counseling and social work services to diverse populations, specifically focusing on veterans and individuals suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This position involves administering diagnostic assessments, developing intervention strategies, and implementing therapeutic modalities using alternative therapies such as MDMA, Psilocybin, and Ketamine. The day-to-day duties will involve conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, counseling, and emotional support for veterans and individuals suffering from PTSD and other trauma-based disorders. The Behavioral Health Associate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Research Assistants, to evaluate the efficacy of alternative therapies in treating PTSD among veterans and other individuals.
Job Duties
- Coordinates patient care services, including psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and group work, within the treatment locations at The Menninger Clinic,Main Baylor Campus - CAMRI and/or Jamail Specialty Care Center.
- Promotes and supports optimum mental and emotional health among veteran populations.
- Conducts interviews and observations to assess and diagnose clients' mental status, develop treatment plans, and make appropriate referrals. Provide psychedelic-assisted therapy and support.
- Provides crisis intervention services for clients at risk to themselves or others.
- Participates in clinical staff meetings to review client progress, treatment plans, and report on caseload activities to the supervisor.
- Ensures timely and accurate documentation into the electronic health record, meeting all deadlines consistently.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulatory standards pertaining to the research study.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S), Licensed Professional Counselor -Supervisor (LPC-S).
Preferred Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of psychedelic medicines and Veteran’s mental health.
- Experience working with PTSD.
