City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world-class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn’t standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.

Under the direction of the Director, Events - OC, the Events and Visitor Services associate is responsible for the strategy and production of various live and virtual events. The associate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the events department and work closely with the OC Marketing and Communications team, chief of staff, Office of the President and Facilities. Other duties include managing the Events and Visitor Services activities calendar, managing sponsorship deliverables, managing branded swag inventory and event storage organization, supporting department leadership on special projects and calendar needs, assisting with the stakeholder experience for the integrated marketing and communication plan, and conducting special campus tours. The associate will serve as the Institutional Visitor Coordinator for the management of non-patient visitors to campus. The associate should be comfortable with public speaking, possess a high degree of professionalism and initiative. The associate collaborates with staff and leadership across the organization to help ensure that the institution’s strategic goals and priorities are highlighted in a compelling and engaging manner to all stakeholders.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Supports live and virtual events. Duties include, but are not limited to, hospitality, day-of event coordination, facility oversight, program logistics, event set-up and breakdown, guest and RSVP list management, and general troubleshooting.
  • Manage event logistics and details including: venue set up, rentals, food and beverage, audio/visual and presentations, including vendor relationships, contracts, payment and performance monitoring.
  • Serve as liaison with outside vendors for rentals, florals, promotional items and other goods and services to ensure consistent quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Serve as Institutional Visitor Coordinator; implementing and managing new policy of non-patient visitors, which includes gathering approval forms and distributing approved visitor lists.
  • Oversee and manage special projects for the institution at the request of department leadership.
  • Provide back-up management of the event and visitor services monthly reports including the activity reports, power point presentations and department calendars.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School Degree: College experience preferred. Experience may substitute.
  • 2-4 years of hospitality, event production, customer service or special project experience.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $33.00 - $50.28 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
