Job Description

Summary

This position is with the Department of Neurology - Neurosciences division. The research is an exciting study looking at the effects of epilepsy on the brain. The prospective candidate will assist in performing machine learning analysis on data gathered during the project.

Job Duties

  • Will receive a list of studies to go through, identify studies, and retrieve the study.
  • Knowledge of Matlab; video EEG screen recordings of the seizures will be made in a format suitable for further analysis.
  • Knowledge of Python for automating and data integrity.
  • Analyze data using traditional statistical analysis (using R, Python packages numpy, matplotlib, scipy), and machine learning algorithms (using one of more of Python scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Pycharm).
  • Perform analysis, write up results and/or manuscript.
  • Manuscript and grant applications: The candidate will help with researching and writing the methods for the project.
  • Oversee analysis, manuscript/grant preparation.
  • Weekly meetings for assessing progress will be needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of statistics is a plus.
