Job Description

The Sethi Laboratory is in the divisions of Molecular and Cellular Oncology and Gastrointestinal Oncology in the Medical Oncology Department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.

Aberrant cell state plasticity and impaired differentiation are critical features of colorectal cancer. By utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to design and develop the next generation of therapeutics that induce differentiation of colorectal cancer. The Sethi Laboratory is looking to recruit an exceptional postdoctoral fellow to join their dedicated, diverse and collaborative team. We seek a highly motivated, creative, collegial and diligent M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. postdoctoral scholar with a strong background in molecular biology. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in genetic mouse models and other in vivo model systems.

Preference (but not requirement) will be for research fellows who have experience, expertise, or particular interest in gastrointestinal precancer and cancer research. We utilize molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and organism models to study stem cell biology, gene regulation, epigenetic regulation, genetic dependencies, and drug discovery. Genome-wide molecular analyses of human and murine models routinely executed in the lab include WES, WGS, RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, CHIP-seq, ATAC-seq, CRISPR genetic screens, and drug compound screens. We utilize genetically-engineered, carcinogen-induced, nude xenograft, human and murine neoplastic organoid, and PDX mouse models to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying gastrointestinal cancer development.

Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. Responsible for the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments, preparation of scientific presentations and publications, interactions with collaborators, as well as supervision of technicians or students as needed.Â

At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we work every day to create an innovative, caring, and inclusive environment where every patient, family, and staff member feels they belong. As relentless as we are in our mission to reduce the burden of cancer for all, we are equally committed to diversifying our faculty and staff. Cancer knows no boundaries and when it comes to hiring the most dedicated and diverse professionals, neither do we.
