The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is actively seeking an allergy-immunology faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, to serve in the Division of Allergy-Immunology and Pediatric Rheumatology and to join the faculty of the MCG Allergy-Immunology Fellowship Training Program. This position is not considered to be on tenure track.
Although the intent is to fill this position at 1.0 FTE, a lesser work commitment may be available and can be discussed during interviews.
Responsibilities
Patient Care/Service - 90%
Become board certified in Allergy and Immunology or maintain board certification.
Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in Allergy and Immunology for pediatrics and adults in an effort to improve quality, safety and patient satisfaction.
Be clinically productive through the provision of clinical services at Children's Hospital of Georgia, Wellstar MCG and various outpatient clinics.
Participate in assigned clinical duties with other faculty in your division. This includes but is not limited to inpatient and outpatient services and on-call duties.
Meet all metrics associated with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE).
Become increasingly productive through the provision of clinical services in Allergy and Immunology.
Meet and maintain wRVU productivity targets. Productivity targets are subject to change.
Promote good professional relationships and build referral patterns with Augusta University physicians and physicians outside of Augusta University (referring physicians in community, region and state).
Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.
Teaching/Instruction - 10%
Provide education and training to fellows, residents, medical students and staff in allergy and immunology, which includes but is not limited to: clinical supervision, consultation and didactics.
Achieve and maintain teaching evaluation scores at or above the department mean.
Attend 50% or more weekly pediatric Grand Rounds presentations and monthly faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications
MD/DO or equivalent. Candidates shall have completed an ACGME-approved residency program in pediatrics, internal medicine, or combined internal medicine-pediatrics, and be board-certified in either pediatrics (ABP) or internal medicine (ABIM), BC/BE in allergy-immunology (ABAI) and eligible for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.
Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Required faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be:
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)'s requirements for institutional accreditation;
- Evidence of ability as a teacher;
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned;
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); and,
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
The Division consists of a strong multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages with a wide range of allergic and immunologic diseases, in a primarily outpatient setting, with an inpatient consultation service. Teaching fellows, residents, and medical students is an integral part of our academic practice. Prior experience in teaching is highly desirable, but not required. The Division expects faculty members to take advantage of opportunities to pursue scholarly and research interests.

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.
The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
Assistant Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
Associate Professor- Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
