Job Description

Physician – Clinical Pediatric Intensivist

Join our rapidly expanding, nationally recognized cancer institute as we seek to hire two full-time Pediatric Intensivist to join City of Hope’s Department of Pediatrics.For more information please visit here City of Hope - Children's Cancer Center .

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full-time hours
    • Annual shift requirement: 14 shifts per month (12-hour shifts)
    • Shifts may range from 12-24 hours
  • Primary clinical responsibility in the care of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients in the pediatric critical care unit.
  • Primary clinical responsibility in the care of the pediatric inpatients on the pediatric floor at night, please note the intensivist will also be working as a pediatric nocturnist.
  • Provide outpatient and inpatient sedation procedures for pediatrics.
  • Teaching responsibilities, including developing and maintaining a Pediatric ICU Curriculum, training Pediatric-facing Registered Nurses, and creation of proctoring relationship with ICU providers related to procedures such as bronchoscopy and bronchoalveolar lavage.
  • Attend pediatric division didactic conferences and meetings, as relevant.Support of in-house surgeons and interventional radiology
  • Perform procedures for care of critically ill pediatric, adolescent and young adult patients
  • Train in performing bronchoscopy for pediatric patients
  • Participate in projects that increase quality of care for pediatric patient

PAY & BENEFITS

Base Salary Range: $220K - $350K (The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.)

Qualification

Early to mid-career candidate, with M.D. or D.O. from an accredited educational institution

Fellowship trained and ABP board eligible/boarded in Pediatric Intensivist

Possession of, or eligibility for, unrestricted medical license in the State of California
