Support the hospital’s mission and vision by providing nursing, case management, and disease management services to clients and families. This role involves coordinating and managing individuals’ health needs across the full continuum of care. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, monitor, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to achieve optimal quality, clinical, and financial outcomes. This includes performing assessments of clinical and life issues for patients.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work a rotating FT shift of 7a-7p and 8a-8p.

  • Provide disease management, understanding oncology, chemotherapy, and their side effects, and monitor and address symptoms.

  • Work with patients and families throughout the continuum of care to explain their disease, treatment plans, and address quality of life issues.

  • Document assessments, toxicity screenings, and interventions promptly in the electronic medical record.

  • Collaborate with and support the provider team in managing and coordinating patient care.

  • Evaluate and assess health issues presented by patients and caregivers, and communicate necessary information to the physician.

  • Efficiently triage patient medical issues in person or by telephone, intervening appropriately with orders or consultations.

  • Provide professional nursing services in cooperation with other clinical and clerical team members.

  • Educate patients and families, ensuring thorough documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Facilitate communication and services between physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members, including external agencies, to support the plan of care, including home services and medical equipment.

  • Deliver excellent customer service and increase patient satisfaction by resolving variances and ensuring positive outcomes.

  • Cover for team members during absences, manage symptom calls, and handle patient calls and appointments.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Current Georgia RN license from an accredited college

  • BSN required or enrollment within 6 months of hire, with completion within three years

  • BLS & ACLS certification required (AHA certificate to be obtained within 30 days of hire)

  • Preferred: 1 year of clinical oncology, ER, and/or ICU experience

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $32.85 - $54.13 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
