MAIN REPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) will be in charge of delivering updated scientific information to a broader group of healthcare professionals.

  • The role of the Medical Scientific Liaison will be to provide essential information which in most instances will be medical, but it can also be purely technical linked to other fields such as biology, pharmacoeconomic data, pharmacology, etcetera, with personal contact, visiting key physicians locally and around all the country, in fact, the main activities will be in a field work setting.

  • The Medical Scientific Liaison will have a constant cross functional interaction with different members of the Business Unit. The top priority of an MSL is to provide scientific information to health care providers and obtain insights. MSL will actively engage in activities that support the strategic direction of a product. Therefore, MSL will be exposed to key decision makers both within the organization and outside the company. As catalysts of collaboration between Pfizer and HCP, MSL will be a key player to transmit updated scientific information, research resources and business intelligence.

  • Provide scientific information to HCPs involved in the specific Pfizer drugs to increase the knowledge about disease, its diagnosis and drug efficacy, safety and correct use.

  • Need to be aware of the latest medical/scientific information with regards to the therapeutic area under his responsibility.

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with KOLs and academic centers to ensure their access to current medical and scientific information

  • Develop specialized rising stars and opinion leaders, to become KOLs, clinical investigators and/or speakers.

  • Prepare and develop the scientific information and materials to be discussed with the HCPs with the support advice and approval of the Medical Manager.

  • Coordinate medical events as part of the objectives in diffusion of scientific information.

  • Participate in medical educational programs and disseminate technical information regarding the product and disease concepts, identifying competitive advantages or potential new uses of the target Pfizer product.

  • Work with the Medical Lead to partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for the development of treatment algorithms and guidelines.

  • Collaborate with Medical Lead to facilitate identification and presentation of research opportunities for consideration in support of the product and customers.

  • Assist in implementation of local protocol development and administration for proposals to be supported.

  • Provide information to local experts to assist in keeping their presentations current and ensure they have medical and scientific information necessary when responding to questions encountered during their presentations

  • Support on-going training to field sales force, personnel and others, providing up-to-date knowledge of the product uses and external data.

  • Serve as local medical scientific resource planning for communication of product information.

  • Attend scientific meetings, review scientific journals and partners with Category Leads and Medical Managers to foster information on medical concepts and product usage.

  • Act in compliance with all Pfizer policies and particularly with FCPA, GPIHP and PIGO policies

  • To provide reports and metrics supporting results aligned with medical objectives.

  • If required by manager, provide administrative support in ISRs.

  • Preferred, previous experience as an MSL and work in public institutions (IMSS, ISSSTE, SEDENA, SEMAR, PEMEX, etc)

  • Currently living in Mexico City, with flexibility to visit the field in other states of the Mexican Republic.

Education

  • Medical degree (mandatory), preferable with specialty in Internal Medicine with experience in hematology and endocrinology.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly in contact with Medical societies of interest (preferably hematology and/or endocrinology), in continuous interaction and scientific exchange.
