Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

This role acts as the Field Force Leadership & Training COE Lead, reporting to the China Customer Engagement Training Lead and being a part of the China Training LT. The Field Force Leadership & Training COE Lead is responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of training plans for Sales Directors (SD) and Regional Managers (RM), ensuring alignment with business needs and priorities. They design and execute cross-BU capabilities programs, such as RM forums, to enhance overall training effectiveness.

Additionally, the Field Force Leadership & Training COE Lead oversees the operations of the BU Center of Excellence (COE) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) teams to ensure that brand training content and strategies, as well as skills training programs and content, are aligned with global content and local business needs.

This role also prioritizes and organizes the training agenda for the entire training team to ensure effective training delivery. They centralize the assessment process and develop monthly dashboards to measure the progress of training programs. They collaborate with PX to ensure that sales leaders' training strategies and activities are aligned with corporate business and capability development needs.

Furthermore, the Field Force Leadership & Training COE Lead contributes as an extended member of the People Committee, providing insights and support for training initiatives. They collaborate with key stakeholders, including BU General Managers (GM), PX, and the global SME team, to ensure alignment and support for training initiatives.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • RM/SD Training Planning and Delivery: Develop training strategies and plans for Sales Directors (SD) and Regional Managers (RM), and be responsible for the execution and delivery of these plans.

  • Cross BU Capabilities Program Design & Execution: Design cross-BU capabilities programs, including RM forums, new hire onboarding training programs, MICS phase programs based on tenure, and new RM/DM training programs. Also, manage the execution of these programs.

  • Oversee BU COE & SME Team Operation: Manage a team of BU COE and brand & skill SMEs to ensure that brand training content and strategies, as well as skills training programs and content, are aligned with global content and local business needs.

  • Prioritize & Organize Training Agenda for the L&D Team: Prioritize and organize the training agenda for the Learning & Development (L&D) team to ensure effective training delivery.

  • Centralize Assessment and Develop Monthly Dashboard: Centralize the assessment process and generate analysis and insights from assessment results, with follow-up improvement plans. Also, develop monthly training activities and insights to report to China CLT.

  • Work with PX to Align on Sales Leadership Plan: Collaborate with PX to ensure that sales leaders' training strategies and activities are aligned with corporate business and capability development needs.

  • Contribute as Extended People Committee Member: Actively contribute as an extended member of the People Committee, providing insights and support for sales leaders and cross-BU training initiatives.

  • Key Stakeholders: Closely collaborate and communicate with key stakeholders, including BU General Managers (GM), PX, and the global SME team, to ensure alignment on training strategies and related initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with over 6 years in sales management within a multinational pharmaceutical company, demonstrating a deep understanding of sales leadership.

  • Proven experience in designing and delivering sales training programs, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of managing teams to meet goals, providing constructive feedback, and motivating employees.

  • A solid understanding of the business environment and objectives, with the ability to develop appropriate solutions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels in a matrix organization.

  • Ability to lead by influence without positional authority.

  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and planning skills

  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Senior sales leadership experience (e.g., senior RM, sales directors) in multinational pharmaceutical companies is preferred.

  • Prior experience in analytical and planning roles is preferred.
