Summary
The Coordinator, Patient Support Services is an integral position within the Department of Ophthalmology providing a clear line of sight and direct contact for specific surgical procedures and patient management. This position interacts directly with physicians, patients, and vendors.
Job Duties
The Coordinator, Patient Support Services will serve as the point of contact for refractive surgery, plasmas tears and other surgical or specialty procedures in Ophthalmology that involve Anterior Segment. In addition to the generic duties, additional duties will include:
- Provides direct contact to patients regarding surgical procedures, options, payments and education.
- Creates surgical schedules to accommodate physician specifications and patient preference.
- Manages the in-suite store of products by managing inventory and sales.
- Orders surgical supplies as warranted to ensure optimal preparation.
- Schedules calibrations/maintenance, etc, of the refractive laser to ensure full compliance and operation.
- Prepares reports of sales, surgical conversions, etc as requested.
- Resolves patient issues regarding customer service, billing and communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC Experience.
- Experience in a medical setting.
- Patient care experience.
