City of Hope Medical Group is Seeking a Mid to Senior Level Clinical Neuropsychologist
The Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a full time board-certified Clinical Neuropsychologist with experience in oncology to meet the academic and clinical needs of our growing Psycho-Oncology program within the Department of Supportive Care Medicine on our main medical campus in Duarte in Southern California.

This position is an opportunity to work in a 500+ member, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center that has become the only cancer-focused national health system in the United States. This position in psychosocial oncology is within our established and nationally recognized, interdisciplinary Department of Supportive Care Medicine. Our Duarte campus is located in highly desirable Southern California, at an institution that is on the frontlines of cancer research, education, and patient care and recently recognized by US News and World Report as a top 5 of cancer hospital in the United States.


We are seeking candidates that are committed to excellence in compassionate patient care, scholarship, and education and are excellent communicators in a team-based, collaborative setting. We will be accepting applications through Spring of 2025.

Position Highlights:

In this role, academically minded providers will focus on the scholarship, education, and clinical care of patients with a wide range of cancer types and across the disease trajectory. In Supportive Care Medicine, you will be part of a large interdisciplinary department that includes psychiatry, psychology, social work, palliative medicine, and other supportive care specialties, a division of research and training, along with close collaborations with medical, surgical and radiation oncology, PT/OT, nutrition, and much more. A central role in education, research, and quality improvement are an important component of the position.

  • Scholarship and educational pursuits are expected as part of the role.
  • 40-60% academic effort allocation depending on grants or other effort profile.
  • Research start-up package consistent with academic expectations.
  • Combination of inpatient consultation service and outpatient clinic service.
  • Leadership opportunities are available.
  • Approximately 90% of patient panel is cancer patients. Experience with oncology patients is essential.
  • Clinician will practice at the medical campus in Duarte California within Division of Psychology in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine.
  • The Neuropsychology clinic will provide services 4 to 5 days per week with the Clinical Neuropsychologist providing oversight, program development and necessary clinical services 2 days per week.
  • Psychology Division currently includes 4 Consultation-Liaison Clinical Health Psychologists, 1 Clinical Psychology Researcher, 1-2 Psycho-Oncology Fellows.
  • Position for a Psychometrist to conduct testing is approved for hiring.
  • Clinical Social Work team and Psychiatry integrated within the same department.
  • Teaching opportunities available and desired.
  • Potential for sign-on bonus.
  • City of Hope is a qualified employer in the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. Medical Group physicians are eligible to apply for loan forgiveness through PSLF.
  • Salary Range - $200k - $235k. The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.
  • Outstanding benefits including up to 20% of IRS max toward annual retirement contribution.*No match requirement.
  • Relocation assistance available on a case-by case basis.

Qualifications:

  • Academic record consistent with appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level to fill a faculty position.
  • Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD. (or foreign equivalent) and be licensed, or license eligible, in California.
  • Applicants must beBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Neuropsychology.
  • Additional training in geriatrics is desired.
