This position is responsible for accurate and timely cash receipt application, excellent customer service to internal and external customers and performing month-end accounting close activities. The accountant will be responsible for cash and receipt postings, including cash collections on accounts receivables and the Letter of Credit Drawdown. The accountant will serve as expert support to PIs, faculty, department/divisions by providing centralized control over all contracts, billing, and reporting.
A successful candidate will have research administration and/or clinical research experience; knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); experience working with PeopleSoft billing and accounts receivable; ability to collaborate on complex issues; ability to perform general accounting functions effectively in a deadline driven environment; strong interpersonal skills and a strong service orientation.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Post payments to PeopleSoft accounts receivable module and reconcile all incoming payments
- Ensure correct coding of all customer invoices and payments in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and provide verification of validity of accounting string
- Prepare cash receipt application, monitor customer accounts and utilization trends
- Process letter of credit draw requests and perform regular letter of credit reporting
- Ensure an accurate and timely month end and year end close
- Prepare and monitor account collections
- Prepare audit and financial schedules as requested and required.
- Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions to prepare various reports.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
- 2 or more years experience in Accounting/Finance w/ related general ledger experience.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $28.63 - $44.38 / hour
