Job Summary
Job Posting RefreshedThe Finance Manager of Clinical Trials Office reports to the Director of the Clinical Trials Office and is responsible for the management of negotiations of complex financial and contractual terms, making accurate, specialized decisions on a range of patient charges, insurance reimbursement guidelines, research financial compliance concerns, sponsor reimbursements, compensation and other payments; oversees all financial offers from industry sponsors; evaluates past operations, trends and costs, knowing estimated and realized revenue requirements, administrative commitments and requirements of clinical trial management. The Manager consults with Cancer Center Administration regarding contractual rights and obligations involving issues such as indemnification, publication rights, confidentiality; manages activities concerned with amendments and /or extensions of contracts. Additionally, the Manager coordinates efforts of Cancer Center research patient billing infrastructure and works closely with Cancer Center Administration, monitoring budgets and subcontracts.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:Clinical Trial Budget Development/Negotiations; Reviews Clinical trial protocols to develop study-specific budgets that account for all procedural and labor costs. Partners with appropriate coordinators and managers to ensure all items/procedures required by protocol are accounted for and priced appropriately. Clinical Trail Contracting in coordination with Department of Sponsored Program Administration; Research Patient billing and auditing, Research Sponsor Billing and Collection.Oversees and advises for CTO Finance staff and manages direct reports, coaching, disciplinary actions, promotions, and out of cycle increases. Represents, with faculty leadership, the GCC's Clinical Trials Office at internal and external business development meetings, including presentations about the capabilities and operations of the CTO. External clients can include pharmaceutical or device companies and professional societies.Prepares and analyzes of all clinical projects/studies (income, expenditures, cash flow, effort and forecast data) to determine if the CTO is progressing toward stated goals and objectives set forth by the CCFO and the Cancer Center Director. Reconcile, adjust, and maintain the financial clinical system (CashFlow/OnCore) with AU Peoplesoft. Responsible for the specific reconciliation of studies by matching contracts, budgets, and per patient costs to actual trial visits and payments. Oversees and approves financial documents (journal entries, authorization to budget, effort reporting, utilization of residual fund forms, etc. through the iLab system with verification of Clinical Trial agreements and grants in place.Conduct and lead team meetings, identify and implement processes and improvements, train new staff members and audit programs. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university and 7 years of relevant experience. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years of relevant experience.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
