A successful candidate will be part of a team of scientists from Argonne, University of Chicago, and Q-NEXT partners (academic, industry, and national labs), using their skills to study silicon spin qubits, including roadblocks to scalability and error correction, and operate associated cryogenic and electrical hardware. The candidate will manage multiple collaborations with academic and industry partners to advance shared research goals and will have the opportunity to work with and train graduate students. The candidate is also encouraged to collaborate across related semiconductor-based quantum science projects in Q-NEXT at Argonne.
Primary responsibilities:
- Study gate-defined silicon quantum dot qubits for quantum computing, including developing new research directions.
- Contribute to the ongoing efforts to provide a safe and inclusive work environment for all. This will include involvement in ongoing workforce development, including mentorship opportunities.
- Seek collaborations within Q-NEXT that leverage the capabilities of the CQCT
- Setup new lab spaces for studying quantum dots
- Maintain a working knowledge of technological tools as well as maintain developments in the field that will contribute to the success of ongoing Q-NEXT projects.
- Participate in writing scientific papers, maintaining technical reports and documents associated with the operation of lab equipment, reports on experimental progress, technical developments, and new initiatives.
