The successful candidate:
The Specialist, Cancer Fighters, is instrumental in implementing and executing national strategies aimed at enhancing the in-hospital experience at the main campus and clinics of City of Hope. This role focuses on key performance indicators, including enrollment, engagement, and influencing referrals within the Cancer Fighters Program, which provides vital peer-to-peer support throughout the cancer journey—from diagnosis to survivorship.
Key responsibilities include supporting the execution of national initiatives at the regional level to drive interest and deliver significant value to patients. The Specialist works closely with the Cancer Fighters team to enhance the in-hospital experience, fostering connections among members and promoting resources.
By actively engaging with patients and staff, the Specialist contributes to achieving key performance indicators, improving patient satisfaction scores, and increasing referrals. This role is essential in ensuring that the Cancer Fighters Program effectively supports patients and caregivers during their journey.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum Experience: 1-3 years relevant experience
Preferred Education: Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or Related Field
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills both in person, by email and by phone, with a high level of professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; process-oriented.
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with little supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure while displaying tact and courtesy to others.
- Conflict Management, during production work, some conflict will arise, needs to be able to manage the conflict and provide effective solutions to the issues.
- Excellent proofreading and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Prepare reports, event/project plans, dashboard and concept plans
- Process contracts, invoices, and expense reports
Software: Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite | Microsoft Teams |Adobe Acrobat | Zoom |SharePoint | Smartsheets | Salesforce
Working / Environmental Conditions:
- Atmosphere and environment associated with an office setting environment
- Smoke-free environment
- Occasional pressure due to deadline requirements
- Occasional pressure due to multiple inquiries
Physical Demands: Works at computer tasks involving hand and wrist coordination. Frequently stand/walk, sit, perform desk-based computer tasks. Occasionally kneel/crawl, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, and grasp forcefully, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 21-40 pounds

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $24.81 - $40.90 / hour
