Summary

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for a Senior Research Operations Associate to work on a nationwide clinical research study called the Rare and Atypical Diabetes Network (RADIANT). This position is a consortium leadership position for our 14 sites. The RADIANT Study enrolls pediatric and adult participants with rare and atypical forms of diabetes. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Operations Associate looking to be involved in a productive research team. Daily activities include screening and recruiting research participants on a national level, collecting and documenting and organizing study data. The Senior Research Operations Associate should have excellent communication skills since the role involves communicating with research participants, site coordinators, and principal investigators of the study via in-person, phone, Zoom calls, and email.

Job Duties

  • Performand overseethe daily operation of a research department or unit.
  • Manageand coordinatequality assurance and safety programs.
  • Establishwork plan and schedule for research project.
  • Manageinventory of lab equipment and supplies.
  • Ensurethe ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize business productivity.
  • Overseeregulatory activities that lead to timely regulatory submission.
  • Oversee or originate special projects or programs.
  • Prepareand organizegrant and subcontract documents for our administrative team.
  • Responsible for tracking funding and expenditures of individual projects within RADIANT.
  • Responsible for submitting purchasing requests or payments to invoices as needed as well as preparing work orders if required.
  • Providebudget projections as needed to support PI decision making and avoid over- or under-spending of grant funds.
  • Prepareparticipant travel arrangements through Concur.
  • Enterpatient stipend payments through the ClinCard system.
  • Ordersupplies and equipment.
  • Proactively lead, manage, and communicatestudy updates to private investigators and all coordinators at various sites.
  • Preparesite reports to track research progress for monthly/quarterly/annual review upon request.
  • Maintainparticipant files, study records, and regulatory documents for the research study.
  • Interview, screen and recruitpatients for study; explainprocesses and proceduresto educate participant regarding the research study.
  • Collectparticipant information; processdocuments and enterinformation into a database.
  • May assist in performing venipuncture (blood draws), collect vital signs, and biometric information on study participants as needed
  • Performother job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with local and/or single IRB policies and submissions.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Familiarity with medical conditions is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience with collection, processing and shipping biologic specimens.
  • Familiarity with electronic data systems.
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
