Join Dr. Ajay Goel’s multidisciplinary team at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer, focusing on the genomic and epigenomic characterization of gastrointestinal cancers (GI), including colorectal, pancreatic, and gastric cancers. For more information on Dr. Goel’s research, please visithere.
Key research topics include:
- Development of ctDNA and cfRNA liquid biopsy biomarkers for cancer diagnosis and therapy response.
- Investigation of epigenetic factors in GI cancers, such as DNA methylation and histone modifications.
- Exploration of early-onset and hereditary colorectal cancers.
- Study of the tumor microenvironment, stem cells, immune regulation, and novel targeted therapies.
- Role of extracellular vesicles/exosomes in cancer pathogenesis and as disease biomarkers.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Manage lab operations, including inventory, ordering, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures for handling biohazardous materials.
- Conduct routine and non-routine lab experiments, validating results for accuracy.
- Perform Cancer Genetics and Epigenetics techniques, assisting with research projects.
- Accurately document methodology and results.
- Participate in lab meetings, review literature, and present findings as needed.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Your qualifications should include:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience:0-2 years of research or laboratory experience.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $25.76 - $29.88 / hour
