The Senior Director of Development will develop and implement strategies for major donor prospects, industry campaigns, events and programs separately or as part of a particular campaign. Cultivates individuals and corporations for the direct purpose of soliciting funds through established or newly created donor programs. Responsible for fiduciary accounting of the funds raised through these campaigns. Responsibly for department oversight and ensuring a positive working relationship between other City of Hope Departments and employees.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Serve as a leader on the Event Experience team supporting the Office of Philanthropy strategic planning, budget oversight, branding and décor for a portfolio of fundraising, stewardship and cultivation events
- Serve as the direct lead for event design and production in the Office of Philanthropy. This includes defining the outcome for each event and designing and implementing the events.
- Consult with key stakeholders across the Office of Philanthropy to design and deliver high quality programs/events that ensure the effective use of resources (human and financial) and a successful guest experience. Prepare, manage, and monitor event budgets, anticipating costs of production, technical and promotional needs. Clarify funding source for events.
- Provide leadership and direction in execution of the details of event production, food and beverage management and audio visual elements with emphasis on high standards, guest/donor experience, attention to detail, protocol, and etiquette. Ensure the appropriate tone, schedules and appearance of all events-related invitations, programs and correspondence.
- Expert on event protocol (i.e. event format, image projection, etiquette to be observed, guest experience)
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in business, philanthropy or related field. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
- 5+ years in fund raising, development or related field in non-profit environment. Experience in a complex medical or academic development setting encouraged. Demonstrated understanding of social media outlets such as Linked In, Twitter and Facebook required.
- Minimum 5-7 years supervisory experience required.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $54.66 - $91.29 / hour
