Are you passionate about people and customer service? If so, Organization 03521, HRS Customer Service & Talent Acquisition, is currently seeking a highly motivated HR Operations Generalist to join their organization and to help Human Resources ensure accurate, timely, and excellent service!
Candidates applying on this requisition may be interviewed and/or hired into one of several organizations at Sandia National Laboratories.
The selected candidate will support either Sandia’s HR Solutions Customer Service team or HR Solutions Talent Acquisition team based on business needs and candidate interest at the time of selection.
- If selected for the HR Solutions Customer Service team, one will provide front-line customer service support to external contacts, Sandia employees, and Sandia retirees via phone, chat, and case management systems on various HR-related questions and issues. This work is performed in a large volume, broad-scope, fast-paced environment and with successful candidates providing exceptional customer service and accuracy.
- If selected for the HR Solutions Talent Acquisition team, one will work closely with hiring managers, external and internal job applicants, and HR Partners to process hiring actions. These actions will include sending interview invitations, authorizing travel, requesting pre-hire documentation, generating offer letter packages, sending reporting instructions, and tracking pre-employment offer contingencies (e.g., Official Transcripts, Drug Screen Results, Pre-employment Background Review Results) and perform I9 collection, verification, processing, and HR records data entry.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
- Respond to phone and online inquiries from external contacts, employees, and managers at all levels
- Resolve questions and issues by accessing information in multiple computer systems (e.g., Oracle Service Cloud, PeopleSoft, ProMapp, and MS Word)
- Work independently to process transactions in support of HR functions by collecting required information/documentation and additional information as needed from employees, managers, and/or others in HR
- Perform data entry and send and file documents and correspondence
- Assist customers navigating internal resources on self-service and HR technology tools
- Set priorities independently for completing work and manage time to meet target dates and objectives; perform quality reviews
- Assist and train new team members
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and work on special HR assignment and projects
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Operational hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Fridays. Schedules will support operational needs at the direction of the HR Operations Manager.
Salary Range:
$39,900 - $72,300
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- A High School diploma; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
- 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources and/or Customer Service-related role
- The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, English, Psychology, or Marketing
- Experience working in a shared services environment using HRIS systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, HCM, and Oracle Service Cloud)
- The ability to protect and keep personally identifiable information (PII), personal health information, and other sensitive information confidential
- A positive demeanor, strong communication skills, and keen attention to detail; the demonstrated ability to team well and communicate effectively with others
- A demonstrated ability to work independently while ensuring work is completed on-time and accurately
- An active DOE-L level security clearance; or other equivalent active security clearance such as DOD Secret

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
