Job Description
Summary
Baylor College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Perinatal Psychologist to join the Division of Pediatric Psychology at CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio. The psychologist will also receive an appointment as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).
Job Duties
- Provide evidence-based outpatient integrated behavioral health services to women and partners in the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic during pregnancy and postpartum period.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams working with families expecting fetuses with congenital anomalies and preparing for surgery after delivery.
- Provide inpatient consultations/interventions to labor and delivery units as needed.
- Work collaboratively with OB/MFM, Psychiatry, and Social Work to establish treatment plans during perinatal and postnatal periods.
- Program development regarding NICU services for parent support.
- Program development regarding developmental and cognitive testing for children aged 0-3 born with medical complexities.
- Supervise pediatric and psychiatry residents and psychology fellows and interns.
The position is 100% clinical, but allows ample time for research, teaching, and program development. Providers receive support for continuing education and professional development.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology at APA-accredited programs.
- Completed an APA-accredited psychology internship.
- At least two years of relevant clinical experience in perinatal mental health or women's health (a formal postdoctoral fellowship is preferred).
- Licensed or license-eligible in Texas.
- Spanish-speaker is strongly preferred, although not required.
