Job Description
Summary
This position is a part-time position and will require expertise in electrical engineering, microbiology, and coding. More specifically, the laboratory technician will be required to troubleshoot a continuous evolution bioreactor that grows both bacteria and bacterial viruses at the same time. The technician will need knowledge of bacterial growth processes and skills related to the construction of the bioreactor and software that runs it. Bachelor of Science in microbiology or electrical engineering is desired, and relevant experience is a plus. 10 hours/week.
Job Duties
- Works on growing bacteria.
- Works on growing phage.
- Performs work on makingmedia.
- Troubleshoots flow and pressures on fluidics systems.
- Works on knowledge of optical density software and its debugging.
- Troubleshoots a continuous evolution bioreactor that grows both bacteria and bacterial viruses at the same time.
- Uses basic microbiology equipment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in microbiology or electrical engineering is desired, and relevant experience is a plus.
