Dr. Sunita Patel, Ph.D. is seeking a clinical research assistant to work in her behavioral and neurocognitive research program within the Department of Population Sciences at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Patel’s research focuses on the clinical, biological, and sociodemographic predictors of neurocognitive and psychological functioning in patients diagnosed with cancer. We are currently conducting a NIH-funded multi-center randomized clinical trial of a behavioral intervention to improve learning, cognitive, and educational outcomes for children treated for cancer.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Support participant recruitment and data collection.
  • Coordinate with collaborating sites for data collection.
  • Perform project coordination activities such as: neurocognitive assessments, medical record extractions, data management, and IRB tasks.
  • Other responsibilities may include basic data analysis, literature reviews, and contributing to manuscripts and/or grant applications based on interest and/or prior experience.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in psychology, neuroscience, applied public health, or related fields
  • At least some prior experience or exposure to research.
  • Spanish proficiency is an asset but not required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.
  • Highly organized, motivated, responsible, with strong interpersonal skills.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $35.71 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
