Job Description
Our vision at City of Hope is to create a world-class Cutaneous Oncology Program that brings together clinicians, clinician scientists and and laboratory researchers across the institution to gain a better understanding of cutaneous oncology and to develop better treatments, screening methods, prevention strategies and survivorship care for them.
Our outpatient facility located on our Duarte, CA campus serves as a central hub for patients to have access to the full range of health care professionals, including not only physician specialists, but nurses, genetic counselors, schedulers, social workers, financial counselors, supportive care staff and other health specialists. In addition, our reach extends throughout our extensive network for care delivery. Our cutaneous oncology program is comprised of extensive dedicated disease teams that drive translational research at COH National Cancer Institute with many open trials.
The Opportunity
City of Hope has launched a national search for a Cutaneous Oncology Enterprise Leader (Physician) who will develop and provide enterprise leadership to an enterprise-wide cutaneous oncology program in clinical, research, and educational areas. The Cutaneous Oncology Enterprise Leaderwill be a highly regarded physician scientist with a collaborative, team-based leadership style, and the ability to leverage and grow the current program to become a nationally recognized cutaneous oncology program . He/she must also be operationally savvy, with the business acumen and cultural sensitivity to lead within a complex, matrixed environment having direct reporting to their respective specialty chair and working collaboratively with leaders across disciplines. The leader must possess a breadth of skills, including demonstrated ability to drive research productivity; deep knowledge of clinical practice; a strong commitment to training and career development faculty and trainees; and demonstrated leadership and administrative ability in the clinical enterprise.
There are specific priorities that COH seeks from the Executive to deliver with an overall objective of elevating the cutaneous oncology program nationally. The following are of particular importance:
· Provide broad vision and leadership to the cutaneous oncology program in research and clinical care delivery throughout the enterprise that will further advance our reputation and delivery of care on the national stage
· Expand and scale clinical trials and translational research to patients throughout City of Hope enterprise
· Drive and standardize care pathways achieving superior quality delivering excellence in patient outcomes, patient experience and utilization metrics.
· Integrate throughout the enterprise and expand our current cutaneous oncology program by recruiting high caliber physicians and physician scientists creating market differentiation and excellence.
· Establish and lead a Center of Excellence in Cutaneous Oncology in Southern California building a multi-disciplinary team including dermatology, oncology, surgery, pathology and radiation oncology specialists focused on the delivery of advance therapies, including clinical trials, to patients.

QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Experience
§ International reputation as a physician/physician scientist in cutaneous oncology research as evidenced by strong, funded research history and publications in H-Index journals
§ Preferably previous leadership experience in an academic setting, NCI and/or national academy/society
§ Possess scholarly accomplishments to qualify at the rank of Associate to Full Professor (preferred) City of Hope
§ Outstanding clinician with an impeccable reputation and successful track record of high-quality clinical outcomes
§ Deep understanding of quality programs, ADCC guidelines, utilization management, etc. with the ability to design and implement improvement programs having served on health system or academic medical center medical staff or departmental committees
§ Progressive administrative/management experience, preferably in an academic medical center setting
§ Demonstrated ability leading highly trained physicians and multidisciplinary teams
§ Demonstrated ability to set and meet strategic goals
§ High levels of integrity and honesty
§ Strong written and oral communication skills
§ Collaborative, adaptable, flexible to change and ability to lead teams through change
§ Exceptional interpersonal skills including relationship-building, communication, listening, and negotiation diplomacy
Education, Licensure and Certifications
§ M.D. ,D.O. or equivalent from an accredited educational institution and boarded in respective specialty in Medical Oncology, Surgery or Dermatology.
§ Possession of, or eligibility for, unrestricted medical license in the State of California
§ Visa sponsorship available
Salary Range: $400K - $650K. The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors.
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
