Job Description
Summary
The section of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a Research Technician II for Dr. Chao He\'s Lab. Research Technician are sought to support laboratory investigations and perform the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. The lab is seeking highly self-motivated individuals to provide research support, technical assistance, and lab organization.
Job Duties
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Documents results of experiments.
- Selects, evaluates and applies techniques used in routine research.
- Orders laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Performs cell culture experiments and molecular biology experiments thatincludes western blotting, quantitative PCR, and flow cytometry.
- Manages a multi-line mouse colony that includes breeding, PCR genotyping mice and maintaining database.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with bench research and/or rodent surgery is desired.
- Be able to perform lab experiments involving PCR, WB, cell culture
- Cooperates willingly and works towards solutions that generally benefit all involved parties; works together with others to accomplish company objectives; promotes collaboration and partnerships.
- Demonstrates knowledge of internal and/or external customer needs, both current and future; addresses complaints, makes realistic commitments, and effectively communicates needs.
