Job Description

Summary

I am seeking a motivated and organized candidate to join a highly collaborative team as a lab research technician. The technician include assisting the team by managing the mouse colony. Research Technician II will also maintain records. Technician assist with certain data analysis if necessary. Technician able to communicate effectively as this position requires interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate team-based research studies. Technician needs to take personal responsibility and accountability for correcting any problems.

Job Duties

  • Maintains, genotypes, and characterizes mouse colonies we use for studies of Alzheimer\'s disease.
  • Keeps records of mice.
  • Prepares all solutions (fixative, buffers, etc.) needed to accomplish the above work.
  • Prepares samples for experiments that includes brain tissue, extracts, RNA samples, samples for metabolome studies etc.
  • Keeps notebook with all protocols used.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience particularly working with mouse models.
