Summary
The Atherosclerosis Clinical Research Laboratory (ACRL) at Baylor College of Medicine has a position available for a Laboratory Manager. The potential candidate should be conscientious and able to work independently with indirect supervision. The ACRL is accredited by both the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Therefore, preference will be given to those applicants who have experience with CAP and CLIA regulations and good laboratory practices.
Job Duties
- Assumes a lead role in maintaining CAP accreditation for the laboratory and is responsible for coordinating CAP-related tasks and creating CAP-related records.
- Maintains and creates research databases using standard and scientific software such as MS Office Excel, EP Evaluator and Olink NPX Signature.
- Communicates with clients regarding their research studies and submits research databases to Principal Investigators.
- Arranges service calls for laboratory equipment and consults with the laboratory director regarding equipment purchases based on budget, condition of existing equipment, and scheduled laboratory projects.
- Supports laboratory staff members with troubleshooting efforts to diagnose equipment malfunctions.

Supports the laboratory director with other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree ina Basic Science orrelated field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Five years of relevant experience,with prior supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of relevant experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
