Summary
The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, is looking for a part time Research Coordinator I to manage and assist the recruitment operations of research projects for Dr. Hemant Roy. The ideal candidate will assist with the enrollment in multiple NIH trials and non-sponsored studies. The candidate will screen, enroll, consent and interview patients for eligibility in various studies, collect patient information, and manage the recruitment documentation . Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants.
Job Duties
- Interviews, screen and recruits patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding theresearch study.
- Collects patient information; processes documents and enters information into a database.
- Assist with enrollment of patients in multiple NIH trials and non-sponsored studies.
- May collect, process, ship, and maintain paperwork for blood and/or biological specimens according to proceduresoutlined in study protocol.
- Maintains records and regulatory documents for research studies.
- Participates in the management of various aspects of clinical trials involving human subjects.
- Works withother members of the study team - PI, coordinators, nurses, physicians, lab personnel and regulatory.
- Performs laboratory project as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in a related field.
- Able to work independently.
- Excellent customer service skills and be able to speak about the study, in layman\'s terms, to the subjects.
- Understand research protocols, be organized, self-motivated and work well with other team members.
