Job Description
We are seeking outstanding candidates for a position in the Radiochemistry group to perform R&D focused on separations science of a wide spectrum of radionuclides relevant to the medical and industrial radioisotope community. With guidance, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning and execution of experimental activities, the development of separation and purification methods, data analyses, the preparation of reports and peer-reviewed publications, the presentation of experimental results at scientific meetings, and development of experimental plans and safety documentation.
Position Requirements
Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelors and 0+ years’ experience, Masters and 0+ years’ experience, or equivalent
Experience in the field of radiochemistry, including radionuclide separations, such as solvent extraction and chromatography; handling radioactive sources and irradiated targets; and performing radiochemical analyses
Demonstrated ability to carry out independent and collaborative research on a multidisciplinary team with the ability to meet deliverables and milestones
Laboratory experience in the safe handling of radioactive materials in hoods, gloveboxes, and/or shielded cells
Experience in the use of analytical chemistry tools such as NaI and HPGe gamma detectors, liquid scintillation counters, HPLC, TLC, as well as familiarity with routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:This level of knowledge and skills is typically achieved through a combination of studies in chemistry, physics, chemical or nuclear engineering or related fields at the master’s degree level, and 2-3 years of experience in separations science and radiochemistry.
