Job Description

Summary

The Buffington Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is looking for a talented individual to join the team. Technician beself-motivated with existing research experience capable of independently preparing and organizing lab reagents, performing experiments, record keeping, and producing novel ideas.

Job Duties

  • Performs mouse husbandry and genotyping of transgenic lines.
  • Assists with and performs molecular and behavioral (mouse) neuroscience studies.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data.
  • Performs complex procedures and follows established protocols required for specific research projects.
  • Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
  • Tracks the inventory for reagents and ensures necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in rodent colony management and behavioral neuroscience.
  • Be comfortable with molecular neuroscience techniques as well as animal handling and behavior.
