Qualifications:
EDAD 803 - Elective Seminar: Social Psychology of Stereotypes and Prejudice (3 credits)
Meeting days/times:
Saturdays (in person): 1:30-4:00pm on 9/7, 9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/16, 12/7
Wednesdays (online): 6:00-8:00pm on 9/11, 9/25, 10/9, 10/23, 11/6, 11/27
In this doctoral seminar, students explore the psychological dimensions of stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination. Through readings and discussion of research-based (empirical) literature, the class examines beliefs about members of social groups (stereotypes), evaluations of group members (prejudice), and behaviors toward members of social groups based on their group membership (discrimination). Also covered are strategies for mitigating prejudice and discrimination. Students will conduct a comprehensive literature review on a specific research question related to stereotypes, prejudice, or discrimination.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD in Social Psychology or closely related field, Experience teaching advanced doctoral-level courses.

A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and equity, that ensures candidates understand pedagogical approaches that recognize the importance of supporting all students, especially students from historically underserved communities.
Must be a resident of California.
