Job Description
Our Environmental, Safety and Health division is seeking a Health Physicist to join their team. In this role you can expect to:
- Provide field and laboratory support for the Radiological Protection Program and our customers in Nuclear Waste Services and Project Management organization. This is a Hybrid position, amount of remote work will be dictated by the project's needs, requirements and deadlines.
- Plan, implement, and supervise radiation protection activities for work with ionizing radiation to prevent or minimize adverse effects to onsite personnel, the surrounding public, and the environment while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Propose and conduct research and development projects in applied health physics to improve the radiological protection program.

Position Requirements
- Knowledge of health physics andradiation protection theory and practice, the measurement and analysis ofionizing radiation and radioactivity, radiation protection standards,emergency response, and decontamination and disposal procedures arerequired.
- Knowledge of state-of-the-art detection and quantification instrumentation and spectrometric techniques.
- Experience with shielding designtechniques, dose assessment methodologies, effects of radiation on tissues, nuclear and atomic physics research with radionuclides, ALARA principles and experimental techniques are required.
- Proven oral and written skills to effectively communicate problems and solutions to works and management.
- Ability to make judgments and decisions in emergency situations and to maintain interpersonal relations are essential, apply health physicsprinciples to the operational demands of a research and developmentorganization.

Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of MARSSIM and experience in supporting D&D projects as a health physicist.
- CHP certification.
- Degree in Health Physics, Engineering or Physics.
The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level, PT3, dependent upon depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills brought to the position, as well as the amount of relevant experience. The requirements of the various levels are as follows:
- PT3 Level: Bachelor’s and 4+ years of experience or equivalent
