Job Description

Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Infectious Disease, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Research Supervisor. The Clinical Research Supervisor will manage a research portfolio on HIV, including developing and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed, data are accurate and complete. The supervisor will assist the PI in managing projects including the production and dissemination of grant applications, progress reports, papers, presentations. The supervisor will assist in budget management and procurement of supplies.

Working with populations with HIV infection and in Harris Health System; not a remote or telework position.

Job Duties

  • Supervises and coordinates research staff schedules and assignments to projects within HIV research.
  • Contributes to performance review of research staff to ensure lab goals are met.
  • Develops and/or contributes to standard operating procedures and ensures they are followed by all research staff.
  • Participate in drafting and editing faculty manuscripts under the PI\'s supervison.
  • Participate in drafting progress reports for sponsors, IRB, regulatory documents, presentations, abstracts, and other materials under the PI\'s supervision.
  • Responsible for budget management and procurement of supplies within HIV research lab.
  • Ensure research staff are performing in a coordinated and efficient manner.
  • Participates in the preparation of grant applications under the PI\'s supervision.
  • Participates in preparing and reviewing study budgets under the PI\'s supervision.
  • Communicates with internal and external study team members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree. Two years or related experience with preferred degree.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
