Job Description

Summary

Performs the routine elements of research work that requires the use of skills, technical and academic knowledge to follow established procedures and record results. The South Central AIDS Education & Training Center (SCAETC) is one of the regional offices of the AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) Program. This Research Tech I position will have dedicated duties for programs/projects for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funded grant for the South Central AIDS Education and Training Center (SCAETC). A team member to help the BCM Houston AIDS Education and Training Center for administrative duties and preparation of research grant submission to support HIV public health initiatives.

Job Duties

  • Assists the Director and the Houston AIDS Education and Training Center team in the routine program reports and research documents.
  • Assists with literature searches, managesZotero, creates surveys, drafts tables and figures, draftsabstracts or posters, readsdraft documents, and providesfeedback, and tracksgrant preparation progress.
  • Organizesmeetings, sendscalendar invites, creates agenda and documentsminutes and followsup on action items; developsand obtains research grant support materials and keeps track of research grant tasks and needs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.
