Position Description
Harvard Medical School seeks a highly motivated individual to support research that uses mouse perturbation technology for conducting forward genetic screens for discovery of novel immunotherapy targets for cancer. This individual will independently perform and/or coordinate a wide range of laboratory research procedures and conduct a variety of complex support tasks for this project including generation and validation of bone marrow chimeric mice, creating subcutaneous tumor models, and maintaining transgenic mouse strains. This individual will perform a variety of laboratory techniques (including isolation of bone marrow stem cells and T cells, lentiviral transduction, multiparameter flow cytometry and molecular approaches such as cloning, CRISPR, DNA isolation) independently, reporting results to a supervisor or other lab personnel.
Basic Qualifications
  • College background or equivalent work experience preferably in a related discipline.
  • One or more years related work experience (relevant course work may count towards experience).
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of laboratory experience including cell culture techniques preferred. Experience with molecular biology techniques and/or animals strongly preferred.

  • Ability to maintain careful records of experiments; detailed oriented; meticulous work habits; possess strong organizational, analytical and communication skills; demonstrates experience with multi-tasking and troubleshooting.
  • Has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team; demonstrates initiative and is invested in the success of research projects.
Additional Information
This is a two-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.
Offer contingent upon successful completion of a pre-placement medical evaluation.
