City of Hope Atlanta is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant for our Heme Clinic to oversee organized and compassionate certified medical assistant to greet patients, schedule appointments and collect personal information from patients

  • Area of Focus: Stem Cell; Bone Marrow & Transplant

  • MUST be a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant

  • Provides compassionate care to patients by assisting with clinical tasks, performing support services for clinical staff, and engaging directly with patients and their caregivers.

  • Records vital signs, blood sugar levels, pain assessments, patient information, and medication inventories.

  • Conducts peripheral lab draws and administers vaccines, including those for influenza and pneumococcal diseases.

  • Communicates any changes in patient status, behavior, or unusual data findings or incidents to the licensed nurse, physician, or advanced practice provider.

  • Accurately documents in the medical record all delivered care, completed activities, and collected data for the patient.

  • Answers phones politely, works with nurses and/or providers to handle phone calls, and conducts pre-appointment reminder calls to patients.

  • Inputs orders into the electronic medical record as directed by the provider and manages prescription refills and requests per the provider's instructions.

  • Provides patients and caregivers with educational materials and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments as prescribed by the provider in preparation for tests, procedures, and treatments.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred

Licensure Requirements:

  • MUST be a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant

  • Current BLS required

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.20 - $26.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
