Executive Director, Clinical Laboratories

In partnership with the Chair of Pathology, the Executive Director is responsible for the direction and effective operation of the Department of Pathology which includes:the Divisions of Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, Hematopathology, Molecular & Therapy Biomarkers, Transfusion Medicine, and Pathology Informatics & Data Science.This position is responsible for the planning, controlling and monitoring operational performance of all clinical laboratories at the City of Hope National Medical Center with dotted line oversight to the Lennar Cancer Center clinical laboratories and moderately complex clinical labs in the Clinical Network.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Manage and lead all programs and resources within all laboratories
- Ensure compliance with departmental and administrative policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CLIA, CAP, AABB, FACT, state and federal regulatory agencies
- Develop/monitor quality control and continuous quality improvement programs
- Participate in interdepartmental quality management
- Ensure that specimen collection, result reporting and turnaround times are optimal
- Develop and implement system strategies and initiatives
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science
- 10 yrs. experience with evidence of progressive responsibility for administration of a clinical lab with demonstrated abilities in above essential functions.
- Experience in an academic medical center and/or cancer center

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $96.61 - $161.34 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
