As a successful candidate, you will:
The Senior Research Data & Report Analyst will be responsible for the design, quality assurance, build, and maintenance of data generated by the Basic and Translational Research Operations (BTRO) systems which include QMS, eCRT, iRIS, Research Logix, iLabs, System Biorepository, Cancer Center reporting and PeopleSoft. The Analyst is also responsible for producing and designing routine and ad hoc reports from BTRO systems, along with the design, content and maintenance of Research Operations related websites. The Analyst serves as the BTRO system data expert and liaison between the Office of Sponsored Research, ITS, departmental administrators, research and faculty, the Philanthropy Office staff, Translational Development Center (TDC), and the Office of Technology Licensing (OTL). The Senior Research Data & Report Analyst also serves as the primary point of contact for producing the required cancer center reports, especially the Data Tables. The Analyst is responsible for the oversight and coordination of activities that involve BTRO data use in the planning, tracking, reporting and execution efforts.
The Senior Research Data & Report Analyst also supports ad hoc data analysis and projects as determined. The Administrator will develop and train personnel to increase analytic and reporting capabilities and support the foundation to meet requirements of future offerings. Proactively investigate data issues and ensure on-going reporting data integrity.
BTRO Data Management
- Responsible for the proper configuration of all reports from BTRO systems, and serve as the in-house functional subject matter expert in regards to the BTRO systems data at City of Hope
- Manages the post-implementation usage, identifying required system modifications, new opportunities to enhance the usefulness of existing technologies and adding appropriate new technologies related to BTRO systems data management
- Act as the functional expert in regards to the data from system integrated with BTRO systems.
- Act as the administrator for the data management and reporting aspects for BTRO systems, including of QMS, eCRT, iRIS, Research Logix, iLabs, Cancer Center reporting and PeopleSoft.
- Provide front-line support for biorepository team for reporting needs from various systems, including EPIC and OnCore.
- Provide training on the BTRO system applications related to data management and reporting as applicable
- Serve as the main liaison with ITS regarding data and reporting needs including impact to data and reporting resulting from system maintenance, bug reporting and fixes, and system upgrades.
- Serves as the primary liaison for all cancer center reporting, including the required data tables.
- Supports end users as the internal Subject Matter Expert for data and reporting aspects for BTRO systems and other integrated systems
- Works closely with the other system administrators and/or vendors to understand product roadmap, timelines, and impact of upcoming product releases that may impact data and reporting
- Act as a submitter of helpdesk tickets related to BTRO systems data management. Will follow-up on ticket submissions and will partner with IT to ensure patches have been properly tested prior to installation to the production environment.
- Collects end user feedback and develops system reporting customization requests and use cases.
- Provide high quality customer service, recognizing the need to provide the research community with superior service. Monitors and responds quickly and effectively to requests received.
- Monitors Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority.
Reporting and Analytics
- Responsible for developing reports to meet data needs for the research community and integration with BTRO systems.
- Support the research community, OTL, and Philanthropy with reporting needs in BTRO systems and partner with the department leads to develop and implement new reports and dashboards.
- Perform data entry and system processing for BTRO systems.
- Maintain the institutional record and ensure accuracy and integrity of data in BTRO systems.
- Prepare standard and ad hoc reports for cancer center and other research data for City of Hope.
- Provide activity reports on research activity for the RDMA Executive Director, the Senior Vice President for Research Operations, the Comprehensive Cancer Center and the research community at City of Hope.
- Designs, develops and generates highly complex regular and/or ad hoc reports and databases to address specific business needs or to manage business processes. Consults management on improvements to permanent reports before doing so.
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows that govern the use of data and reports for BTRO systems across City of Hope.
- Works closely with researchers, business administrators and management. Attends regular research-related meetings to assist with identifying opportunities to improve basic and translational research efficiency.
- Analyze large datasets to discover trends, patterns, and insights and deliver relevant information in appropriate formats.
Data Quality
- Analysis of, daily, weekly, and month end research data reconciliations and reporting as applicable. Ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Collaborate with department leaders, Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), Office of Foundation Relations (OFR) and Office of Technology Licensing (OTL) to resolve data integrity errors/ issues that arise due to module integration with the new enterprise and other BTRO systems.
- Partner with the AD, Administration COHCCC and the Cancer Center Director to curate the required data for the COH cancer center grant.
- Maximize the use of automated systems and other available tools that improve quality and productivity by offering data management services and systems that most effectively meet the requirements of City of Hope.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree with Computer Science emphasis; 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in utilization of a variety of computer software, ability to support end user needs, experience in the field of Research Administration and the ability to work independently with minimum or little supervision.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $41.92 - $64.97 / hour
